Illinois re-brand
The brief: "Launch a new brand, and sssshhhhhhh, don't tell anyone, we don't want the taxpayers thinking we're wasting money." Several Art Directors and countless meetings later, (which in one I was told one of my designs looked like clipart), I designed the logo above.
Role: Art Director, Designer and production.
The Logo
After the concept phase we created the vertical logo above and then adapted it for horizontal spaces. To work in smaller spaces we created a vertical and horizontal version without the tagline.
Color Palette
Created an open color palette with a core set of colors to add more flexibility, diversity, and variety when using the logo in advertising.
Colors deserve names, from left to right: Illinois Blue, Halsted Red, Vineyard Violet, Prairie Dawn, Electric Blues, and Fairway Green (those clever copywriters).
